What is a REALTOR®?

REALTOR® is a federally registered collective membership mark which identifies a real estate professional who is member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict icon 2017 REALTOR Code of Ethics. All real estate licensees are not REALTORS®.

A requirement through the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR®) that went into effect January 1, 2001 states that ALL REALTORS® MUST take continuing ethics training every two (2) years. http://www.realtor.org/code-of-ethics/training

The training was put into place in order to create an awareness and appreciation for the role that Code can and should play in their professional lives; to enhance professionalism and competency; and to encourage REALTORS® to view their Code of Ethics as living, viable guide in their daily dealings with clients.
